The Wine: 

This October, Winexpert Revelation returns for its fourth year – a new release of Winexpert’s trophy wine, delivering bold Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and an elevated winemaking experience.

Aromas of ripe black currant and blackberry are layered with notes of dried herb, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, bold black fruit flavours are supported by rich tones of dark chocolate and vanilla, with an undercurrent of earthy minerality adding depth. Full bodied and structured with supple, ripe tannins, this wine delivers a long, powerful finish that captures the elegance of Coombsville.

The Region:

Napa Valley is the crown jewel of California winemaking and a true titan of Cabernet Sauvignon. With an ideal climate and rich soils, the lush valley offers near perfect growing conditions, and is indisputably one of the best places for Cabernet Sauvignon. The tiny region offers a rich selection of iconic and trophy wines that are highly sought after by collectors and consumers.

Coombsville, is a nested AVA and rising star in Napa Valley, known for its cooler climate, volcanic soils, and extended growing season. Fog and breezes from nearby San Pablo Bay slow ripening, allowing for exceptional flavour development and smooth, structured tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville shows intense black fruit, vibrant acidity, and refined complexity – a perfect balance of power and elegance that’s earning the region a reputation as the future of Napa Cab.

Pairing:

Big and bold with loads of black fruit flavours, this is best matched with equally big, rich flavours, or foods high in fat and umami flavours. Try marinated ribeye steak, angus burger, mushroom pizza, braised beef short ribs, or lamb. For charcuterie, feature cheeses like gouda, aged cheddar, or gorgonzola.
